roasty, chocolate, coffee, black, white foam, light body, thin feel. Beautiful smell, like a somehow drinkable, fine wooden armoire. Once it hit my lips I did an immediate double-take to check that I had actually ingested the beer. Tastes like the hard water at my grandmothers house. Reminds me of that old Johnson Smith joke powder you could buy that claimed to make water look like beer. I’ve been pranked by the Brains brewery. You got me.

On tap. Pours almost black with a one-finger off-white head which takes a while to settle - much like a Guinness. Aroma of roasted malt. Taste is mostly of roasted malt, chocolate and lots of coffee and hops. Surprisingly bitter. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle sample at Oslo Ølbestival 2013. Lovely aroma of tasat and malt. Very dark, creamy head. Soft, smooth. Coffee, bitter chocolate. This could be a fine standard stout instead of G. Not in any way extreme, but very pleasant.

Very dark, black once setled with nice creamy off-white foam head, leaving drink rings in glass. Aroma and taste are not that strong, that outstanding. Good beer, but not a wow feeling. Enjoyed it with my fish and chips. (Swansea 201312)
