Reddish brown with a thin white head; malty aroma; creamy with a malty flavour and some red fruit; dry bready finish. A very straightforward and drinkable bitter. Earthy flavour. Very sweet, honey. Beer was not well looked after at all. Thin, no body, tasteless piddle. Probably a better beer somewhere else. Beth101 (319), West Yorkshire, England

Alround rating: Butterscotch, toffee, caramel, cola?, roasty hints, sweet. In bad condition as hazy an butterscotch, but nicely drinkable all the same. albertane (376), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England

It was thin and watery, and tasted of very little except some hints of malt. It certainly didn’t live up to the name. Ethereal (1707), London, Greater London, England

Looks fantastic - the perfect amber pint with a neat head. Strong flowery hop aroma and a sweet flavour with a good bitterness. Palate is smooth but very slightly sticky. A good ale. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2007 Cask. At The Eagle, City Road, London - yes, THAT Eagle, the one from the nursery rhyme. Clear, mahogany pour, average lasting beige head. Light roast caramel malt aroma, wheat and almost perfume hops, hint of fruit (raisins? baked apple?). The taste when delivered was both lighter and sweeter than I expected, but pleasant - light roast caramel malt, raisins, currants, fresh cereal grain and plenty of soft balancing dry floral hops. Very light bodied, dry, my notes say "mild everything - quick finish." I quite liked this brew, it made a nice change from a steady diet of bitter bitter bitter bitter - and it went down a treat!
