2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask @ Hop Poles, Hammersmith. Well, at least this wasn’t as bad as Brains IPA. The pour’s amber with a small head. The nose is of caramel, some apricot fruit, some nut. The taste is more caramel, leather. A bit of of shortbread. More apricot, red apple. Slightly husky. The body’s light, the carbonation fine. Overall, OK.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
[cask at the Wheatsheaf, Enfield] Deep mahogany brown pour, large white head. The aroma is like toasted bread crust. Dry and bitter on the initial taste, slightly woody and earthy, the bitterness rises on the finish and becomes drier still. Enjoyable

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On cask at The Coach House, Potton. Appearance: attractive mahogany brown, thick mocha brown head. Aroma: malty, biscuit like. A little grassiness but dominated by the maltiness, almost doughy too. Flavour: Sweet and malty, quite a dry mouthfeel with a distinct fruitiness, long malty finish. Quite nice.

Beaufort Arms, Kittle. Darkish amber. A malty and tasty session bitter. I could happily quaff beers like this all day long. Pulls well above its strength. Nice one.

(cask @ Coopers , Rochester). A soulless bitter , nothing going on really but subdued sweetness and some dry hops . Pretty lame .
