Created by Simon Martin, aka Mr Real Ale Guide, this is a golden IPA with a hefty aroma of citrus flavours, especially grapefruit. Brewed with a trio of American hops – Zeus, Summit and Cascade, an initial smooth flavour leads to the huge citrus flavour of the hops kicking in towards the end, with oranges and a dry finish becoming apparent.

Bottle at home. Pours clear orange. Nose is citrus, grapefruit, grain, tangerine. Taste is tangerine, malts, fruity hops, citrus. Cant say what it lacks but somehow a bit lame. Also quite watery for the abv.

bitter finish, citrus aromas and aftertaste. Sharp and clean. Very crisp and refreshing for 6%.

4x330 ml Bottles for £6 at Gateshead TESCO. Consumed while watching the Champions League final. Light amber with a dissipating white head. Fruity aroma, and too malty flavour wise for an IPA. More like an ESB, and a bland one at that. Pass. At least the game was good.

Bottle from Toft Vin, Copenhagen - orange pour with white head. Aroma and taste is subdued citrus and tropical fruity, light malty, caramel, light floral and herbal notes, kind of messy, not doing it for me.

a light and fruity on the nose. Juicy berry in the mouth with a puffy, creamy body. Some bitterness with a herbal character too. the big thing for me is that lack of NW pine or citrus. I like it.

330ml bottle. A clear amber with a fine and fading off-white to beige head. Earthy malts present but a solid hop-focus. Tropical/citrus hops are balanced (perhaps outweighed, even) by sweeter malt notes. Lacks the body I’d expect of its ABV. Spritzy carbonation, firm mouthfeel and a fine length to end.

Bottle from morrisons. Light copper with small white head. Aroma is golden syrup. Taste is sweet and bitter. Decent body oily with medium carbonation.

Another Tesco IPA. Pours fairly nice with a small white head. Nose has a lot of malts and not many green notes. Taste is similar, but the green notes are slightly more dominant, though still not clear and dry enough to make it a good IPA. A bit of a disappointment.
