Created by Simon Martin, aka Mr Real Ale Guide, this is a golden IPA with a hefty aroma of citrus flavours, especially grapefruit. Brewed with a trio of American hops – Zeus, Summit and Cascade, an initial smooth flavour leads to the huge citrus flavour of the hops kicking in towards the end, with oranges and a dry finish becoming apparent.

Bottle at Chriso Snow Tasting, thanks to Paul for this one, 20/01/13. Clear light amber with a thin off white bubbly head that clears to the edge. Nose is pale malt, apples, frut, blandish - where’s the hop aroma? Taste follows, just as bland, pale malt, light fruit, some sugar. Medium bodied, softish carbonation, a touch of bitterness in the dry finish. Sub average!

Bottle. Not that good an ipa. The flavours are flat and very mild but include hops and citrus.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: predominant diacetyl notes overwhelming everything else. slight toffee note. APPEARANCE: pale ambar color and translucent. medium off-white head with below average retention. TASTE: dominant diacetyl flavour with slight toffee notes. oxidation notes also present. high bitterness that lasts beyond an almost dry finish. Hop notes not present. PALATE: medium body with a slight slickness from diacetyl. Medium carbonation. OVERALL: a supposed American IPA that lost its hop aroma and flavors, with overwhelming buttery character.

Bottle. Cloudy amber color, white head. Sweet flavor with cookies and syrup. Medium-full body, medium carbonation. Bit too sweet for the style.

Bottle from local Sake Marche store. Grainy nose, with stewed fruit and acetaldehyde-like fumes. Deep gold/orange color. Overripe stone fruit, bit of citrus, grapes, and rotten grapefruit. Thin-medium body. Rough and rude all around. Tastes like a badly-made pale ale -- and nothing like an IPA.

330ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a clear orange color forming a small white head with low persistence and only few lacings left in the glass. S: Smell is sweet with strong notes of caramel and citrus fruits. Notes of grapefruit, resin and herby hops. Hints of bubblegum. T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel malts and grapefruits. very herby and grassy. Hints of resin and bubblegum. Medium but persistent hops bitterness finish. M: Medium body. Average carbonation. Grassy and malty aftertaste. O: Medium drinkability. It’s supposed to be an American IPA but, in the end, it’s nothing more than an average British IPA.

At Great British Beer Festival 2015. Day 3. Clear golden beer with a small head. Malty caramel aroma, hay, grass, citrus, some grapes. Bready hop flavor, grassy, hay, citrus, some grapes. So so.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, slight cereal, grapefruit, orange and a lot of herbal hops. Taste of caramel, grapefruit, orange, some red berries and herbal hops, quite medicinal. Light bodied and a spritzy texture. A dry, herbal hop bitterness in the finish. Quite malty with unappealing herbal hop tones. Not bad but doesn’t tastes its strength, to thin too.
