COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Created by beer historian Martyn Cornell, this is the sort of IPA that Colonel Williams and his regiment might have drunk when they were stationed in India in the early 1840s. This light amber ale is brewed with Maris Otter malt and Goldings hops for a dry, bitter and refreshing pint.

Bottled. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Sweetish, cereal malts, hedgerow hops, apricot fruits and a bitter finish. Fine.

Medium toasted malt nose with some honey and some earth. Pours copper with a quickly dissipating head. The flavour is pleasant enough - some honeycomb and some bitter spruce notes, although not a lot of hop comes through. Finish is dry with some clove, some more spruce and un underpinning cereal malt. Let down by the mouthfeel - far too carbonated.
