3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 500ml 4.1%. Poured very dark brown (virtually black) with a small, off-white, frothy head which lasted well. Aroma was of roasted malts with toast, black coffee, toasted nuts, liquorice and light notes of raisins. Flavor was a light earthy bitterness with roasted malts, sweet milk chocolate, light lactic/sour milk notes, a touch of caramel and a dry toasty/nutty finish. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, watery texture and a good length finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle shared with Finn. Rocky beige head, fine duration. Near clear dark brown with ruby highlights. Spotty lacework. Well roasted dark malty aroma. Blended flavours of brown and black malts added by a touch of prunes. Roasted ending. Medium to thin bodied. Smooth on the swallow. A nice mild, indeed (at Finns in Tromsø 27.05.2014).

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is great. Different to the cask. This has a thick head and an aroma of dark fruits: prune, dates. Flavour includes a good dash of chocolate, coffee and roast malts. It opens up into dark fruit flavours and some malts. It’s a brilliant beer in bottle.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A colablack, nicely poured beer with a medium and light brown head. The nose of dark malts, only slightly roasted, some sweetness. Taste is dryer than aroma, dry and roasted, some dark malts, coffee and herbs, hint of chocolate. Almost medium bodied, nice and smooth to drink. Simple but balanced, dry and roasted beer. Surprisingly good.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma from this brew is chocolaty and nutty. Its a its a clear dark brown with little tan head It tastes slightly bitter throughout with a hint of choc and almost a hazelnut. Its a medium bodied brew with med carb. Not a bad brew though a mild ale i would not classify it as. Maybe a stout or porter.
