Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available Bottle Conditioned @ 3.9%.
"A blend of dark and chocolate malts, gives this dark mild a full flavour. The beer has a delicate hop and chocolate aroma while the palate starts malty with a slight nuttiness, but then gives way to a light dry finish."

Cask (Goat Major,Cardiff) - Very dark, almost black in colour with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma with a hint of coffee. Smooth tasting with coffee and a hint of plain chocolate. A decent mild.

Bottled at 4.1%. Dark brown pour, good layer of rough tan bubbles. Cheerios® aroma, caramel, a bit of milk chocolate. Straightforward mineral chocolate roast, sweet, but not sticky. Enough body to be pleasantly soft, but still very drinkable. Some of the subtly of a a good cask mild is lost, but this is very respectable in a way that most bottled milds aren’t. I dig.

Cask conditioned (hand pump) at the Brains bar at the GBBF 2008. Black colour, dark brown in the highlights. Moderate tan head. Moderate roasty aroma, notes of malts and chocolate. The flavour is moderately roasty with a slight acidity.

A nice mild ale. Aromas of nuts and chocolate. Similar flavors. Chocolate and caramel. Very subtle. The palate was easily drinkable. Finishes smooth with a slight dryness.
