Cask (handpump) @ The Masque Haunt - JDW, 168-172 Old Street, Old Street, Greater London, England EC1V 9BP.

Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, spices, toffee, light hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, spices, warm malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110101]

Has a light, fruity aroma. At first a little sharpness but that gives way to a drier and slightly nutty finish.

Quite a good festive beer, some festive spices noted on the taste and not too heavy, one of the best festive brews I’ve had

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber with thin white head. Pretty standard, if flattish malty bitter with a berry fruitiness, a little musty maybe with a slight fungal note. Bready malt, just a little dull.

Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Pale gold with a small white head. Fruity aroma: melon or peach perhaps. Sweet taste with grapefruit and a little grainy malt. Some bitterness. Quite pleasant if not particularly festive. ’Summer fruit medley’ more like.

Cask, the Francis newton. Clear amber, balanced aroma of sweet apricot and clove. Fruity, nice clean finish.

Cask Conditioned handpump Cordwainer Northampton. An amber coloured beer with a good off-white head and lacing. There is a hint of gras and fruit in the otherwise plain aroma, but it’s better in the mouth with pleasant citrus hoppy notes featuring oranges. Surprisingly tasty. In no way Christmassy though
