@ Cumberland, Edinburgh. Glassy coppery amber. Unfortunate phenols in the aroma, acetone. Soft oily palate. The malts are crackery and nice with some woody notes, but the beer is not in great condition.

@ the Cumberland, Edinburgh. Bright amber, probably oversparkled. Relatively vague caramel aroma. Toasty with light caramel colour. Not the most sophisticated Brains beer but it’s okay.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Well, what a surprise, another Ryder Cup beer has arrived, at the very next pump to the Dark Horse Birdie. It’s amber with a small white head, and, as expected, it’s inconsequential, inoffensive and perfectly drinkable. Slightly dusty malt aroma and taste. Some bitterness.
