Sweet, mailk chocolate and liquorice aroma with some caramel in the background. Easy drinking, with more chocolate, some raisins and milky coffee, leading to a slightly dry finish. Good.

500ml bottle. pours a jet black colour with very dark head that stays. aroma is very very weak. some molasses and that’s it. taste is nice. very full mouth feel and thick like treacle. burnt toast at first followed by coffee.

Pours black with a dense tan head. Coffee aroma, and mocha flavour. There’s a bit of black treacle, slick and creamy mouth feel, and generous bitterness in the finish

Nov 2012 - bottle. Nice coffee start, mild, not much in the aftertaste. A very drinkable but not overly impressive stout. Nice enough.

Bottle. Almost black beer with residual head. Coffee and chocolate aroma. The taste is roasted coffee and dark bitter chocolate with a slight sourness at the end. An OK stout.

Bottle; black, brown at the edges, very thin patchy tan head; aroma of chocolate malt; tastes of lightly roasted malt, juicy blackcurrant and chocolate; quite bitter; has a dry finish with a decent hop presence; it has a dusty quality throughout; possibly a little thin, but a decent stout at the weaker end of the strength spectrum.

Sturdy, steady stout. Lots of chocolate and vanilla, with medium roast. Light malts. Easy drinking.

500ml bottle from UK via Fred (thanks!). Deep brown black with a small tan head. Nice dark roasted malts with a touch of tang, coffee, a touch of chocolate, nice. Much like the nose, nice dark roasted malts with a touch of tang and earthiness; dry with limited bitterness and a pleasant roasted malt finish.

Roasted malt aroma with a touch of chocolate. Most of the flavour comes through in the aftertaste with roasted bitter malts and slight smokiness too.
