This beer pours a deep yellow/light amber color with little to no head. There is a breadlike aroma that is quite pleasant. The beer is actually pretty drinkable, but not that memorable. Nice to be able to try it though. Cheers Maria (3963), Thisted, Denmark Jul 2, 2007 Royal Hotel, Oban August 11. 2005 - a goodnight beer. Amber, nice head and lacing. The aroma is very malty, the flavour has notes of roasted malt, caramel. sweetness and in the finish a dry bitterness. The flavour lacks body and is a bit thin. Magic_dave6 (3642), London, Greater London, England Apr 9, 2007 Aroma was spicey hops with some caramalt. Taste was similar though not that rich some grassy hops coming through. harrisoni (5109), Ashford, Kent, England Feb 26, 2007 500ml bottle from Franglais, Calais. This was my free bottle (buy 5 get one free, so I ended up with 8 scoops for €15 which I thought was a good deal). I’m not convinced that the bottled version is filtered as there is definitely some sediment in the bottom and it poured as a hazy copper colour. Thick lasting off white head. Slight yeast aroma. Some nice citrus hop too. Bit too carbonated. Nice yeast, malt, hop aroma balance. The bubbles are just too much. Quite a decent bitter, if it was on cask. I seem to remember having this at a Wetherspoons in Canterbury and liking it. Nice malts, reasonable fullness in the mouth.
