The classic Welsh Brains. Undeniable British but not as flat on bottle as often seen on cask. Very mild. Doesn’t insult anyone. Pleasent and a little dull.

Passable ale, though slightly fizzy. Cask, from memory, superior to the bottled version.

Flaske 0,5l fra Kilpishalli. Fortært i heimen 25 Sep 13. Gyldenbrun, Høyt luftig skum som varer. Fin lacing. God maltaroma med antydning til krydder. Lite kullsyre. Smaken er mye malt med karamell & antydning til frukt. Avslutningen er innholdsrik. Tørket frukt. Karamell.

DruncanVeasey (6950) - NUNEATON, Top 24, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2013 Drab brown bitter with Weetabix, toffee and spruce notes... but a good one. Pours brilliant russet topped with a shrinking atoll of frith. Wasn’t he in The Hobbit? Aroma of vegetable stock, watery gravy, cheap tinned bitter, Crunchy bar warmed in an aluminium saucepan. For a mass produced pasteurised brown bitter from Bulko Spar this is sneakingly complex. Pine cone, butter and hedgerow. Sometimes drab brown bitter just hits the spot.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of hops. Bitter, slightly roasty flavour of hops, with touches of cocoa, enriched by sparse malty and fruity notes. Mildly bitter finish. OK.
