SA Gold is a full-flavoured, hoppy and refreshing golden ale, brewed at the home of the famous Brains SA in Wales. Careful use of Target hops creates a satisfying bitterness, perfectly balanced by vibrant citrus aromas and complex hop flavours from late-hopping using Cascade and Styrian Goldings. A deliciously satisfying and refreshing pint!

Bottle from Asda, pours a pale golden yellow, lots of orange citrus leading onto a sweet finish, nothing special

Light blond colour with light foamy head. Massive aroma of fresh, citrusy hops. Clean, refreshing beer with a nice floral hop flavour and a slightly dry, bitter finish.

50cl bottle. Hazy pale golden colour, medium white head that collapses quickly leaves some lacing. Fruity aroma of ripe oranges and lime (i.e. citric hops). Very low carbonation, smooth, oily mouthfeel. Taste is rather on the sweet side, citrus fruit with a hint of bananas. Refreshing but smooth hoppy finish. Very likeable, robust pale ale, though IPA-devotees should look elsewhere for more prominent bitter notes. Would drink again!

bottle, Waitrose Abergavenny. Golden colour, mid-sized head and fruity nose. Medium-bodied, pleasantly malty beer with a touch of citrus fruit and good aromatic hops, especially in the lingering finish.

Bottle from Morrisons. Gold with a white head. Clean tasting and fruity with reasonable hop content for this brewer. Nothing exeptional though.

(Bottled) Huge hoppy scent from far away. Looks golden and without much body. Poured well with a decent foamy head. Thin and over carbonated. Bitter but not overly so and without a dry end. Slightly metallic hint right on the end. Tastes include oranges, peaches, hops and some biscuit malts. Nice.

Golden with a medium head and comes in a clear bottle. Bitterness dominates but nothing else really going for it. Fairly mediocre.

Sample from bottle brought back to Calgary. Clear gold. Nice light head. A bit grainy. Plain Golden Ale.
