A little hoppy and very smooth. Light color with a little head. After a long day in London, it was very enjoyable and refreshing.

Cask @ Cricketers, Bedford. Mid-gold, clear as a bell. Bit of white head, heavy lacing. Aroma is not particularly strong: sweet flowery hops. Taste is sweet throughout with a slightly more bitter turn right at the finish. Refreshing. Palette is fuller than most ales of this ABV.

Pint at the Back of Beyond in Reading. Clear light gold, nice creamy, bubbly head. Lightly fruity, smooth, bitter, but soft on the palate. Light summer hop aroma. Its watery though, and a bit plain. Lacking in body.

I’ve always found this very hit and miss, but really nice when you get a good one. Fruity with a lingering bitterness.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
1 Pint Cask @ the Hop Polles – this was retardedly expensive as opposed to their deserts which were quite cheep. Last one for the road…. I assume that this is the version that I had, if I remember correctly ABV matches. Pours a bright burned caramel with a very creamy, cask lacing head. Smell is mellow floral, light all the way with light hops, caramel and biscuit malts, toffee, light herbs. Taste is lightly bitter herbal, sticky, caramel, toffee, Tesco value pudding, grass, light herb, near aluminium touch. Mouthfeel is like a cross between nitro & cask. Bit bull but certainly not non-agreeable.
