COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special.
Brewed to a traditional recipe from the early days of Brains, Strong Ale is a 6.5% ABV beer brewed with the finest pale ale malt and Brains’ unique yeast. Crystal malt provides a distinctive caramel flavour with a slightly nutty after palate and late addition of Fuggles and Goldings hops give a balanced bitterness and hoppy aroma.
Guaranteed to be a memorable beer, Strong Ale will be exclusively available at the Brains stand at the Great Welsh Beer and Cider Festival in Cardiff between the 16th - 18th of June and the Great British Beer Festival in London between the 2nd - 6th of August.

Cask at GBBF 2011 - Tuesday. Clear amber/brown - offwhite head. Herbal, sulfor, messy, fruity notes, campfer, alcoholic, fusel, hay, straw, forrest. Wierd.

Cask at GBBF 2011, 3rd day. Deep amber with a fine head. Winy, fruity, caramel aroma—actually more like toffee. Rich as hell. Sweet, slightly funky, burnt brown sugar flavor. Caramel, minerals, fruit. Soft and silky. rather too sweet.

Cask (handpump) @ GWBCF2011 - Great Welsh Beer and Cider Festival, Cardiff Interantional Arena, Mary Ann Street, Cardiff, Wales.

Clear medium amber colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, light roasted, moderate to heavy phenol - yeast, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, malt, alcohol - phenol. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is flat to soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Very strong ! [20110616]

Cask@GWBCF2011. Deep golden colour, not too much head. Aroma is fruits, mild alcohol, some slight toasted maltyness. Flavour is fruits, wood, alcohol and some slight spicyness and mild bitterness as well.
