On tap at the Ale House in Cowes. Brownish and clear look with a simple nose of malt and some coffee. Easily drinkable with a sweetish background, some earth, nuts and raisins. Bit sweetish and slightly smoked at the end. Fine one without being special in any way.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A mid orange brown coloured beer with a weak off white head. A strong malty aroma, plenty of caramel and nutty aromas, with a hint of hop. Very dry mouthfeel. The taste is very bitter, which dominates and flavours, so the malty caramel, nutty elements are a tad lacking. This bitterness lasts into the finish. Tasted at the 17th. King's Lynn Beer Festival, Stuart House Hotel, King's Lynn, Norfolk.

Rich, warming and deep in flavour. An old bitter in appearance and aroma, but not a bad drop overall.

Cask at Lemon Tree, London. Pours reddish brown with a little head. Aroma displays nutty and bready maltiness with a hint of caramel and raisin, interesting if a bit mild. Taste is medium sweet with malts providing the bulk of the flavours, caramel and bread on the forefront. Light to medium bodied, smooth palate. Decent sweet old ale, lacks body though.
