COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Continued to badged as Buckleys for some time after the takeover by Brains but that seems to have been dropped now.
The Rev. James is named after the founder of Buckley’s Brewery the Reverend James Buckley (1770 – 1839).
The Rev. James is brewed to a traditional recipe and has been described as having a flavour not commonly available these days. Full-bodied and warming, The Rev. James is rich in palate, spicy and aromatic with a deeply satisfying finish.

Cask Conditioned, at the Crosse Keys, London.
Tawny brown colour, grey sudsy head. Note the best pint I’ve ever had. Severed too warm even for a English bitter in England.

Cask. Deep honeywood beer with a very light tan thick head. Malty nose. Comes alive in the mouth - maltiness, a slight honey, a little spice. Nice rounded finish, a little bitterness and a little warmth. Nicer than the bottle.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2012 Cask in a pub off the Kings Road. Darkish ruby coloured ale, flavours are malt and fruit cake. Not especially hoppy. Finish is medium. Smooth and enjoyable, if not exceptional. Rerated the very next day, with the temperature outside a good 10 degrees lower - a very nice warming pint.

Ruby red with beige head. Aroma is a bit of cherry, fruity, malty, both vaguely so. Taste is marzipan and cherry, bit of malt and fruit again. Quite flat and a bit thin. Nothing very exciting.

Cask at The Wharf, Ålborg. Pours clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of toffee and caramel, inviting. Taste of spicy caramel, full bodied, lingering fruity and malty aftertaste. Clean and malty taste, enough hops to make this an exellent beer. .
