Slightly hazy copper w/ frothy off-white foam. Sweet, malty aroma of caramel, brown sugar & citrus. Light-ish feel. Flavour is sweet, malty, bready & lightly toasty. Light, hoppy bitterness in the finish. Simple & refreshing.

Cask @ Oxford Beer Festival, UK Backlog 23 Oct 2004
My first sample of this here brew since the move (back) to Witney. Used to be one of my fav bitters. Still very qood, but not exactly on the spot. The butterscotch is there, alright, but too much. The hoppy flavour isn’t exactly the same. But they are close.

Cask @ Charlies, Cph.: Amber coloured. Clear. Huge off white dense head. Sweet and hoppy aroma. Some fruit notes. Flavour is flowery and mildly hoppy. Has a very nice lasting bitterness in the end. Quite refreshing.

Bottle, pours a hazy copper, small head. Flavor is slightly sweet, fruity, perhaps raisins, floral hops. There is also slight musty flavor, not sure where that comes from. Mouthfeel was very thin, like water. I would like to see the hops balanced with more malt, just my preference. Was not impressed with this.

[Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A hazy orange beer with an OK off-white head. The aroma is weak, but what is there is flowery. The flavor is sweet flowery and very bitter, but the body is thin. A nice bitter, but a bit thin for my taste.

Cask at Mulligans (formerly O’Hanlon’s) in London. Bronze tinged amber. Musty hop aroma with some unfortunat sulphurous notes. Taste is hops with mild malt notes and fruit. Some thinner caramel notes as well. Body is light with a mild bitterness. Finishes with mild bitter hops along with somne fainter fruits and some grains.

Crystal clear reddish brown color, with a fine head. Malt/hop nose with some greeness. Light bitter, light malt, light floral. Very nice refreshing summer beer!

not bad.. color is light amber, little head to speak of, aroma is of apple, mild caramel and a VERY subdued spice of some form. flavor is buttery, moderately fruity, with mild bitterness and a woody earthiness to finish it off.
