COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular.
Brewed at Henley by Brakspear until 2002 when the brewery closed and Refresh UK bought the rights to the brand. The beer was then contract brewed at the Thomas Hardy (Burtonwood) brewery for Refresh until 2004 when production was transferred to a purpose built brewhouse at the Wychwood brewery which includes original Brakspear brewing equipment.

Nose is weak leaves, medium bitter hops, little redberries, feel is watery, no carb, taste is sweet tobacco, some nutty notes, rosehip and mediumnroad bitter hops finish

Cask. Pours an almost clear amber with a dense white head. Fairly harmless aroma of fruit, malt and a little flowery hops. Light body, low carbonation, vague buttery note. Caramel and fruit. Good, dry hoppiness in the finish. A nice session Bitter. 190211

Cask, somewhere in Ironbridge. Pours dark orange with small head. Nose is some orange with bready malt. Taste was bread to start, then some fruity malt with a strong bitter finish. Surprisingly full in the mouth for its low strength.

(Cask at Carpenter’s Arms, Marble Arch, London, 6 Aug 2010) Amber colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, nutty, slightly roasted nose with toast, orange and marmalade. Malty, nutty taste with notes of dried fruit, orange and dusty hops. Light body, with balanced sweetness. Possibly on the thin side, but tasty and highly drinkable.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2011 Cask, Red Lion, Reading. Thin white head, clear light brown body. Mild bitterness. A little oily with a sweet finish. Malty, biscuity backbone with a decent amount of hops. 4 2 6 2 8 Rerate. Cask. The Slug & Lettuce, York. Medium white head, amber body. Fruity, yeasty. Genuinely pretty bitter. Dry finish with a little oiliness. 7 3 7 3 12 Bad condition before, so later review sticks.
