2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours slightly hazy amber with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of yeast and hops, with fruity notes. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with estery notes and touches of fruit and citrus. Mildly bitter finish. Low carbonation. Watery. OK but nothing to sweep me off my feet. Not off as such, even though the bottle is past the BBD. May need re-rating.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
One of the hidden gems in run-of-the-mill shops, it’s a simple ’classical’ bitter, but as the blurb says the Brakspear yeast really adds an interesting, zesty, pear & spice note (just as White Labs WLP029 does). A nice dry finish makes it a simple beer that you could drink a few of.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2014 330ml brown bottle, pours clear golden with a medium sized off-white head, that reduced quickly leaving almost no lacing. Aroma is faint of wheat bread, corn and some metallic notes. Flavours of wheat bread, caramel and toffee. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is light-medium bodied, slightly oily texture and average carbonation. Despite to a somewhat disagreeable aroma, the flavour is quite good. Overall this is a decent bitter.
