Hand pulled cask at the Moon & Sixpence (JDW) Hatch End. Amber /brown with a healthy off white head. Full bodied with clean sweet malts and fresh balancing hops. There are characteristics that remind me of the Brakespears back in the good old Henley days here. Very good.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet - October 2011. Golden amber with a dense cream head; aroma of malt, slighly sour and earthy; smooth with a rich fruity maly flavour; the finish is warming with dry caramel and an earthy bitterness.

Crosse Keys Spoons. Clear amber beer, small cream coloured head. Smooth dry palate. Mild toffee malt. A little spice. Pleasant dried fruits. Apricot and orange. Develops bitterness to join the mild spice in the semi dry finish. Allright.

On cask at the Counting House, Glasgow. Different, quite yeasty. Aromas of apple, cheese, and caramel. Taste is sweet and sour, with average length. Palate is velvety, almost creamy, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 8, 2011
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats in November 2011. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale garnet in colour with a thick creamy white head. Maltloaf present in the short aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Pale malts deliver a powerful malty base with fruit spangles to the fore. Strong flavour of rosehip syrup evident, along with sweet redcurrant jam. Little in the way of hop resins noted in the short aftertaste. Alcoholic warmth cuts into the sweetness provided by the malty finish. A good example of an English strong ale. Well recommended.

Swatters carr middlesbrough. Aroma is like sniffing a jar of raisins. This is a sweet beer not usually my taste but i like this. Taste is like a slice of malt loaf. And that can’t be bad.

Cask conditioned Handpump Four Candles Oxford. A hazy amber coloured beer with an off-white head and lacing. Sweet and yeasty. Some candy sugar notes. Boozy. Not a patch on the bottled version and actually tasting (subconsciously) Belgian. Hmmmm.

stravale (574) - Scottish Borders, SCOTLAND - OCT 18, 2011
Cask @ Muckle Cross JDW, Elgin. <br/Amber brown....thin white head...good lacing
Aroma of sweet malts, hint of yeast.
Taste of sweet caramel malts..bit of honey...light bitter hops....noticeable alcohol.
Medium body...smooth...soft carb....finish is short with sweet fruity malt with a bit of a light lingering bitterness tail.
Good smooth beer, emphasis on the malts rather than hops, but surprisingly boozy for 5.7% and a bit bland for the abv. I must try the bottled version.

Bullit (3284) - Burgos, SPAIN - OCT 14, 2011
Cask @ Hengler’s Circus, JDW. Spoons Real Ale Festival autumn 2011. Amber colour, off-white head. Nose is caramel, a bit dusty, toffee, bit of citrus. Flavour is cramel malts, bit of fruits, followed by lots of biscuit. Slightly bitter, alcoholic finish.
