COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Marris Otter, Black, and Crystal malts, Oats, Target hops.
Launched as a 7.2% abv bottle conditioned beer in 2005 when the brewery moved to Witney. In 2011 briefly switched to filtered in 330ml bottles, then back to bottle conditioned at 6.7%, later returning to 500ml bottles. Name changed from Triple to Triple III in 2015.
Thanks to the two fermentations in the Brakspear ’Double Drop’ system, this highly aromatic and satisfying strong beer delivers its rich flavour with subtlety and balance. Crystal, Black and Maris Otter pale malts provide the backbone of this outstanding rich beer. Hops are added three times to provide a good balance between bitterness and fragrance. This is a triple hopped strong beer, packaged in individually numbered bottles.

Red colour, almost no head. Caramel, toffee. Very sweet. The label mentions hops, but can’t really find any, just sweetness, that’s all.

Bottle 50cl, a clear amber beer with medium head. Nose is on caramel and fruit hops. Aroma is mainly on caramel dimension : sweet caramel, smooth butter caramel, light burnt caramel, light orange notes are there too. Body is a bit alcoholic like, on finish the whole hops comes out with a very nice bitterness that remains quite long and good grassy/ fruity touch.

Appearance: Copper, clear with thin, transient white head. Aroma: Fruit cake/christmas pudding, vinous, undertone of pear, orange marmalade, nuance of breadyness and yoghurty. Taste: Low/medium sweetness, medium bitterness, low/medium sourness, orange mamalade in the background with a thin hoppyness. Palate: Medium body with a smooth, thick texture, soft/average carbonation, with a lingering bitterness in the aftertaste, and mild alcohol warmth. Comments: Enjoyable, would definitely give it another go. Left a glass. lace.
