Bottle conditioned. 330ml.
Ingredients: Pale malt, Black Crystal malt, Oats, Target hops.
Switched to filtered in 330ml bottles in 2011, then back to bottle conditioned in 2011.
Its high alcohol content along with the molasses and rum flavours create a beautiful contrast with blue cheeses or steak and kidney pie; and complement Dundee cakes or Cadbury’s fruit and nut.

Appears clear dark brownish orangy to the eye. Pretty thin head but leaves some lace. Dark musty sharpish bitterness that really hits the end palate which is then strangely followed by some fruit. A real vinous quality there with tartness. Did start spritzy though and lightish for the acohol leaving a sort of cloying quality on the tongue. BIt of a cut and shut to me.

Bottle, Sainsburys. Deep mahogany colour, no head, light carbonation. Immediately estery smell, bananas. Almost sherry like flavour, warming with alcohol, some little bitterness afterwards. Best Brakspear I’ve tasted, certainly.
