COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned. 330ml.
Ingredients: Pale malt, Black Crystal malt, Oats, Target hops.
Switched to filtered in 330ml bottles in 2011, then back to bottle conditioned in 2011.
Its high alcohol content along with the molasses and rum flavours create a beautiful contrast with blue cheeses or steak and kidney pie; and complement Dundee cakes or Cadburyís fruit and nut.

Pors amber with a nice frothy white head which quickly dissipates. Sweet aroma of banana esters.Flavour of sickly banana bubblegum, but not undrinkable by any means. Weak watery bodyfeel. Slight lingering bitter sweet aftertaste. Doesnít taste itís strength.

330 ml bottle from systembolaget Torp, Uddevalla. Pours hazy amber with a small creamy head. Funky bubblegum aroma, quite sweet and watery mouthfeel with a short aftertaste.

Clear deep amber reddish brown with a thick creamy lasting lacy beige head. Herbal vanilla smell with malt, light roast and a hint of alcohol. Medium to full oily body. Very smooth. Flat. Sweet taste of fruit (berries and raisins) biscuit malt toffee with a bitter peppery warming belly herbal dry finish. It has some elements of a spirit, like rum in its alcohol. It doesnít have the roast that it predecessor did nor the citrus. It lost the Christmas cake appeal and now moved to a more fruit cake. It feels similar but yet clearly different. Now its a beer likely to be drank more often rather than a special treat that it used to be. Its a shame that both are not available. Nonetheless, this is a great beer too but not as excellent as it used to be.

Bottle from Systembolaget in Torp, Uddevalla. Hazy deep amber body, medium creamy off-white head. Aroma is bubble gym, honey, caramel, rose water, hints of perfume and heather. OK, but a bit sweet all in all. Taste is perfumy heather-honey-like tones, sweet rose water notes and hints of alcohol and floral hops. Soft carbonation, medium body. An OK English Strong Ale on the sweet side of the spectrum.

Nice nutty brown and light hazy colour. A small off white head. Sweet malty nose. Lots of caramel flavour together with alcohol.

Bottled. A chestnut brown coloured beer with a slight off-white head. A cakey sweet and alcoholic beer. Great fruits; super malt/hop balance, and a nice kick of alcohol. Itís not diminshed for being of a lower ABV. Nicely warming.

330ml bottle. Pours a dark orange brown with a small head. Aroma is toffee and Lemsip. Taste has toffee and lemon. Some raisin. A bit boring. Agree with Silk, the old version was a lot better.

330ml bottle from Tesco. 6.7% abv. Bottle conditioned. New, smaller size bottle; new, lower abv; new recipe; and new owners since I last had this. Itís a pleasnt rummy tasting beer. Plenty of sweet malt impregnated by English bittering hops. Itís a standard English Strong Ale, and is a decent job, but I had come round to a appreciation of the previous Triple as a rather special beer. Shame they had to change it. Yes, itís good, but previously it was awesome.

Heavy banana and vanilla aroma, syrupy palate with bitter and long lasting aftertaste. Nice clear deep golden appearance with thin lasting beige head.

Bottle. Dark red-brown, no head. Sweet, candyflossy nose, bit banana. Dry then sweet, red-fruity kind of flavour, bit of a solventy edge (which I like, but I can imagine it dividing opinion). Very nice, amazing value.
