Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Ingredients: Maris Otter, Crystal and Black malts; Northdown hops plus Cascade at the end of the boil.
"A beer conceived by Head Brewer Jeremy Moss, to celebrate the return of Brakspear brewing to Oxfordshire. This is a triple fermented, triple hopped strong beer, packaged in individually numbered bottles. With its high alcohol content and bottle conditioning, this is a beer that will go on to develop further complexity as it matures in its bottle."

I was unsure of what to expect of a uk triple. Not what I would expect from a triple. Poured a nice rich colour. At first taste was disappointed but grew on me as I drank it. Relatively low alcohol content (for a triple) made for a rather easy drinking triple with good flavour and body. Would buy again, I was plesantly surprised

Deep copper in colour, long lasting creamy off-white coloured head, good lacing. The aroma was of citrus, caramel, fruit, some yeast and lightly sweet. The flavour was creamy, smooth, some light alcohol, citrus and fruits, light caramel sweetness throughtout. Full and lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes lightly bitter, long and citrusy.

Not to bad, its lightly acidic but it has some great balance.

500ml bottle from the LCBO in Belleville, Ontario.
Opened on January 26, 2008.
Best before April 25, 2008. Bottle #662323.

Bottle. Rich fruity aroma. Ruby red in colour with non existant head. Strong malt feel. Smooth rich ale for the percentage. Not a bad beer at all but could be better.

Lovely clean amber colour, unfortunately no head whatsoever, so it lost a point on that one. However, it has a crackin’ nose, loads of powerful malt and spicy/floral hops. A big full bodied beer with (again) loads of malt ’n’ spicy hops. Good stuff!

Bottle, shared at the May 2008 tasting. Thanks Jeff. Gold, off-white head. Nose is lemony hops, toffee, hay malt, honey. Flavor is honey, astringent & bittersweet malt. Overly bitter finish.
