Cask (gravity dispense - I think) at the Great British Beer Festival Day 2, August 2009. Amber colour. Moderate condition. Not much aroma. Straightforward, quite firm bitter. Good level of bitterness. Fairly traditional in style.

Cask-conditioned at the Derbyshire beer festival, Seven Stars, Bristol 6/12/10. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish caramel and hedgerow fruit, with decent bitterness in the finish. Ok.

Clear light to medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, fresh nutty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20090805]

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2009) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with apricots, biscuits and dusty hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of peaches, biscuity malt and dusty hops in the finish. Medium body with some lingering malt sweetness. Decent but hardly exciting.
