2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 DruncanVeasey (5145) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 13, 2008
The Jolly sailors, Brancaster Staithe. Lick of shampoo. Faintly tangy lemony/orange hop notes. Mealy and still with almond showing. Splashed with Rockpool. A vanishing disc of suds. End of festival tiredness. Disappointing.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2007
Cask at The Jolly Sailors, Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk, 28-04-07. Far too weak to be considered a proper IPA in my opinion but this aside, it poured a warm golden colour had a maltiness about the nose, whilst there was nothing desperately wrong with this beer it was a bit thin and lacking in all departments really but I suppose it would be a good if unexciting session beer.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 StueyD (661) - Heacham, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, ENGLAND - SEP 26, 2006
An amber, orange coloured beer with a weak white head. A mellow hop aroma, with a hint of biscuity malt. The taste is dry and hoppy, with some citrus fruit. Then a smooth, biscuity malt flavour towards the end. A light, dry finish. A very pleasant pint, but certainly not an I.P.A. (Cask - The Jolly Sailors, Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk).
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 imdownthepub (7473) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 1, 2006
Cask conditioned at The Jolly Sailor, Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk. Gold amber beer with white head. I do wish they wouldn’t call these things IPA, is it an East Anglian thing I wonder? As a session beer it works ok although there is a boiled caramel note running through. Some hop and a sweetish base with a thin malt.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Spiesy (2336) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - OCT 10, 2005
Cask Conditioned, at The Jolly Sailor, Brancaster, Norfolk.
Golden translucent body, with a large white frothy head. Hoppy with distant pineapple and fruit salad notes. Late arriving bitterness, builds as you quaff it. Unbeknown to me the beer at this brew pub is brewed by a mate of mine Andy, from the Pitfield brewery. I found this out as I went to meet the brewer who was working away out in the car park of the pub. Small word ah.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Ungstrup (23951) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 6, 2005
A hazy orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is primarily of honey, but also with some notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and a dry end. Not enough hops for an IPA, so in my book it is boring.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Engelsmann (652) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 30, 2005

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber colour, almost absent head. Weak aroma of malt and caramel - very weak.... No carbonation, no body but plenty of water. No bitterness either. About as close as you can come to water. IPA??? My ass... 270705
0.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 Pernille (518) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2005
Looks like urine. No head. And the label is horrible. And by the way: No flavor at all. This is colored water..
