Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is smooth fruity, grapefruity and mild herbal. Fruity, bitter and slight greasy hoppy. Bitter and light citrusy finish.

An almost clear one, orange-golden in color, topped by a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma has quite a lot of pine cones, with resins and some tropical fruityness. A touch of pale malts too, both in aroma and flavor, with a solid bitterness. Pine cones and resins. Full body, semi-dry and with a tad hard carbonation. Lasting bitter and piney finish. Fruity too. Nothing special going on here, but it’s a nice beer anyway. 141219

Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, orange, citrus, pine and grape. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long orange, citrus and pine finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

The bitter is most of what I taste. The aroma is probably a bit more complex and interesting. Sure feels good going down though.

Hazy amber with a slightly copper tint. Aroma is piney, and grassy. Smooth, medium body. Mild for a rye, but not bad.

Rich hazy amber and deep bronze coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of herbs, rye, pale malt and quite a bit of herbal and peppery hops. Medium-bodied; Deep rye flavour at first with a very earthy bite, some subdued sweetness from pears and apples and a pungent rye and earthy malt flavour at the end. Aftertaste shows a good depth with some sweetness, but a large rye and specialty grain note. Overall, a nice rye-based pale with some nice hop notes, a hint of sweetness, but a lot of toasted herbs and dry notes. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased a few minutes ago at Central Market in Austin, Texas for US$6.99 on 06-May-2014 sampled in my hotel room here in Austin on 06-May-2014.

Draft at Big Hops. Clear golden color. Aroma of fresh pine. Taste is very bitter, too bitter to let the spiciness of the rye shine through.

Light amber, white head. Nose is rye, hops, fresh, crisp, and clean. Easy palate, smooth rye, fresh hops, citrus, and a nice finish.
