2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
bottled from AH. Translucent reddish orange color, thin quickly diminishing head. Nice warm color but lacks the thick looks of a bock. Lots of roasted sugar wiith a sticky mouthfeel. Roasted malts and caramel dominates further. Alcohol is coming through strongly. Completely lacks the thick warming body which makes the bock so popular this time of the year

Bottled. Rubyish amber colour, not much head. Aroma is bigtime caramel and some glueish notes. Flavour is sweet malts, glueish grassy alcohol. Not very pleasant. Glueish alcohol sticking in the aftertaste and finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
30 cl bottle. Aroma: heavy malty strawberry syrup. Appearance: red browen and clear with beige head. Flavor and Palate: sweet and heavy, more carbonated than other doppelbocks. Also here the taste of strawberry syrup with a slightly dry finish. Overall this beer seems to be a copy of Paulaner Salvator and has not to hide itself behind the big brother. A good oily Doppelbock for a dark and cold evening.

(Draught at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, 5 Nov 2007) Dark ruby red colour with frothy beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark fruit and wild berries. Malty taste with wild berries, dark fruit, cherries and caramel. Sweetish, above medium body. Slightly spicy bitterness in the finish. Nice beer, slightly sweeter and fruitier than its german relatives.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught Huge yellow-amberish, slightly irregular head; beautiful red-chestnut colour. Very nutty, sweet-alcoholic smelling, even jam-like. Sweet taste, brown sugar, leaves, caramel or toffee flavours, nutty. Very slick, even a tad syrupy, fatty. Very classical, but I must confess, far from bad. Sweetness has been the option, but despite that it shows some character.
