Enjoyed this on tap at de Molenzolder in the Heineken Factory, A’dam. Really enjoyable with strong chocolate taste. Red-brown colour. Very good example of how it’s done.

Bottle. Sweet, malty aroma with a little hops. Clear, dark red/chestnut colour. Big, light brown head. Semi-sweet flavour, balanced OK by alcohol and some bitterness. Short caramelly, peppery aftertaste.

Dark, red brown coloured doppelbock. Roasted malts and a nice balanced taste between sweet fruits and intens bitterness. Overall a nice heavy doppelbock.

bottled again since new bockbeer season 2005. the best double-dutch bock i dare to say! red brown, no head. aroma: sweetish, roasted malt, nutty. taste: roasted malts, woody, nutty, bit fruity(banana...like the german style doppelbock), sweet(but not too much) and bitter. full bodied, average co2. finishes long fruity and alc. warming. very nice!!

A very nice beer with a very pleasant aroma an a beatiful dark colour. Caramel and a full-bodied taste complete this Dobbel-bock, which is according to my oppinion the best Bock we can by in the Netherlands

(Bottle 30 cl) Beautiful looking brown beer with a ruby red hue. Malty, sweetish beer with a caramel-like character. Full-bodied wirth a discreet but lasting bitterness. Gets better as it warms. 201203

Dark brown with reddish shine, more like accajou wood. Froth has the color of old ivory. Good malty smell with fruity accents and a touch of port wine. Taste is mild with a good maltyness and a smooth touch of dried fruits. afthertaste is warming up a little and ends with a cognac like finish.

This was a very nice doppelbock. They have restyled it in something much more commercial. The alcohol is less than I remembered and the rich aroma is now just malty and clean.
