Bottle. Dark ruby red pour with a decent brownish head. Turns quickly into a small foam. Malts, spices and caramel in the aroma. Malty taste with some spices and caramel. Ok hoppy finish which lingers a little. Ok bock and enjoyed it.

2000 vintage keg, on tap at Arendtnest in Amsterdam. Flecked cinnamon and tan head. Cloudy brown with tons of floaties. Big, old, port-like aroma. Oxidized mildly. Winey, oxidized flavor with caramel. Well-aged, smooth as hell. A bit over the top in funkiness, but nicely aged.

Bottle at home. Pours a clear amber color with a thin off-white head that laces. Aroma of sugar, fruits, licorice and more sugar, very sweet. Flavor is sweet but less cloying than expected. Some bitterness and spices in there as well. Slightly watery texture and a bit alcoholic. Quite bitter finish. Low carbonation.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Deep red copper with a lacing head. Malty and nutty, well-balanced bitterness. Not over-exciting, but true to the style.

Tap in a nice bar on the corner of Prinsengracht and Vijzelstraat, Amsterdam. Nice appearance with a deep amber body and a foamy and creamy tan head. Moderated aroma and taste of the style with caramel and toasty sweet malt, fine hop. Not bad, nice bock but it hasn’t got enough power in it.
