COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle at home. Aroma is malt, caramel, bready, notes of ripe apples, ripe fruits, bit toasted malt. Flavour is sweet, a tad cloying, and light bitter. Body is medium. A bit too sweet for my taste.

Amber/orange color with a diminished off-white heat head. Earthy sweet grain and some floral hops aromas. Hints of caramel, toffee and marzipan. A bit too simple and sweet for my …ator. Sweet malt and some woody sap flavors in the front. Some sweetness builds in the middle with some brown sugar and dark candi. Not the complex malt and melanoidins I am looking for in my DB. Still a decent strong sweet heavy lager. 6/10

Gisteren gedronken (5-6-2016).

Aroma: malts, brown sugar, caramel. Appearance: light/medium brown colour, with small short lasting head. Taste: light to medium sweet, medium to heavy biterness, light sour. Palate: soft carbonation, light to medium body, slick to a little bit sticky texture. Overall: light aromas and strong taste, mainly dominate bitter, dry finish.

Drinking from a 33cl bottle. In the aroma alcohol, flowers, caramel, malt. The clear copper beer has a medium off-white head. In the taste singer spices and caramel. Medium carbonated.

Draft glass @ some Holiday Inn in Amsterdam post work presentations. Clear darker amber with an off-white head. Nose is massively metallic, industrial & thin, herbal thin industrial burned caramel affair. Taste is the same, massively industrial thin herbal metallic caramel, processed to death. Thin, industrial caramel body. Promotion material proclaims this to be the oldest specialty beer of the Netherlands, marketing rubbish in the way that this tastes purely like a modern industrial affair. I actually enjoyed the Heineken that I had after this one more to my surprise.

On tap Amsterdam Schipol. Quite nice. High on the caramel malt so a little outside of what I like. But still a nice beer. I would have a couple.

0.3 l bottle from local ’Gall & Gall’, best before June 2016. Clear, copper with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey and grains. Sweet, malty taste of honey, caramel and grains, followed by a medium long, dusty, slightly warming, medium bitter finish. Medium to full body, creamy to oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite tasty, thick and creamy, only a bit boring. Nice!
