2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a near black colour with a small head that dissappears almost right away.
Smell is very sweet, as is the taste.
It’s too much of the same taste and smell.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
too swet to my taste, at served has an elegant picture dark and frothy head, but in a couple of minutes the magic dissapear and remains a dark liquid that looks more like a coke, alcohol is noticiable but no taste around it, the end seems to me more like a cuba-libre rather than beer.

Dark brown color, small head. Sweet and moderated-minimal aroma and flavour of roasted malt, maybe a little coffe with a poor bitter taste. It is like a diet coke.

Bottle. Very sweet & malty. Very dark red. nearly no head at all. Heavy sweet start, in the middle it gets a little bit bitter. Average duration. Medium body (because of the sweetness), syrup texture, soft carbonation.
Good Oud Bruin.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle at Hoppe. Awful. dark brown. syrupy sweet, no sour complexity. This is very bad, and gives Oud Bruin a bad name.

Bottled, pasteurised, 300ml, From a Supermarket in Schin op Geul, NL Limburg. Dark Brown with ruby hints, no head. More a Tablebeer than anything, sweet and sticky, smooth and malty but little else. Useful for lunchtime drinking.

Bottle at home. Pretty weak. Now I see why, it’s low alcohol. Quite sweet. I remarked that it was like drinking a brown coca-cola and my family agreed. Pretty watery, too sweet and not all all interesting or remarkable in any way. Brand beers are generally quite good though. Can’t believe that Michael Jackson recommended this one.
