Did a Brandshlang when I was in Amsterdam. Very nice, clean pilsener with very little after taste. Goes excellent with Dutch cheese & crackers. Very similar to Dutch Heinekin & Amstel.

The most bitter, aromatic pilsner of dutch decent. This one has a kick and is my favorite pilsner - too bad it can’t be found in the US.

Nice dry and bitter lager, with lovely presentation(glasses) mostly sold in the top end of dutch bars and restaurants.

One of the better pilsners I've had...kind of dark for a pilsner, but great taste...

Good decent pilsener like most of the common dutch pilseners. Nothing wrong with it! Also nothing special.

Bottle 0,3l. Yellow. Aroma’s of fine aromatic hops. Lively carbonation, some sweetness, decent body. Finish with a special hop bitterness (later dry malt bitterness), in the end sweet en hoppy. The malts/hops sweetness/bitterness are nicely balanced. Enough bitterness, nice aromatic hops. Fine beer! When compared to other Dutch ’supermarket’ lagers (e.g. Amstel, Heineken, Dommelsch, Gulpener), I think Brand is one of the best.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2003 Tried on draught in various Amsterdam pubs. This is a fantastic pilsener, with a taste intricately balanced between sweet and bitter. It's wondefully light, flavoursome and tasty.
