30 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra. Pale yellow with a white head. Hoppy, malty slightly grainy aroma. Good strong bitter hop taste. Lively carbonation. One of the best dutch pilseners.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma van hooi en metaal. Smaak is gras-achtig, met een lange krachtige bitternoot. Binnen de pilsners één van de meest verfrissende en fijnste.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Yellow fizzy, glowing body with nice lasting frothy head. Very decent light malt aroma with enough hop backup. Some summery yeast hints. Easy drinkable with lager, but with surprisingly good bitter end. Still somewhat grainy. Much better than the normal Brand pilsner or the other big Dutch pilsner brands. (33cl bottle)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 25, 2013 Brand UP might be the best mainstream beer you can find on tap in non-beerknurd bars. This Urtyp Pilsner (UP!) has been brewed since 1952 in Wylre, Limburg. After takeover by Heineken it was temporarily sweetened, but this ill-fated decision has fortunately been reversed. It is a very clean, crisp German style pilsner with a bit fuller body and bitter aftertaste. These qualities and 5% ABV make it a very pleasant session beer. It is being marketed as the "classy" beer now by Heineken, so the places who have it on draught are the better bars and restaurants.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Oct 2010: Brown 33cl bottle reviewed during on of my ’Pilsner/Lager’ tasting evenings. It had two months life on being poured into my stemmed ’La Chouffe’ tulip.
Really pale, just like a Helles should be, medium sized white head.
Usual odourless lager/pilsner, gets my regular score of 3 for smell.
It may well be clean and clear, it is also almost tasteless, but strangely I enjoyed it.
Refreshing and drier than I normally prefer my lager based beers, this one however touched the spot as it were.
