3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Oosterling, Amsterdam on 7 April 2011. This is way netter than the "standard" Brand pilsner. There’s a touch of grassy hop here with a touch of bitterness (although probably less than in the old days). The malts are sweetish and a little bready. But it does have more weight on the palate and depth of flavour than the norm for a Dutch "pilsner" from the large brewers. Probably somewhat diminished from what t used to be but still a pleasantly drinkable and quite satisfying lager. Wish I’d had the opportunity to taste this before the Heineken takeover.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Yellow golden colour, white head, small and not really lasting.
Aroma of hops, grass, hay, some floral aromas.
Flavour is a bit sweet, very pleasant bitterness. Light style, thin texture but very enjoyable. Some spice tones. Well balanced. Dry finish. Very good for a pilsner.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
[3/8/11] Draught at Arendsnest in Amsterdam. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of some noble hops and grainy malt. Flavor starts with some sweetish malt and continues bitter with some slightly grassy hoppiness. Light to medium-bodied. An OK Pils.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Home 20110220 (30 cl bottle): I nice malty and fruity aroma (citrus) with hop bitterness. A light yellow colour and a thin white head. The taste is slightly weet with a malty body. It end in a dry hop bitterness. According to the type of beer is the body thin. Good example of a Urtyp beer.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours out golden coloured with a medium head that should hold longer. The smell is sour-sweet fruits, malts, spices. The taste is also sour-sweet, malty, spiced, citrus, sugar. Full of taste, more then expected. But pilsener is not my thing...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
30cl bottle at home. Clear yellow beer with average white head and soft carbonation. Taste is fresh and smooth, less bitter than ordinary lagers. I’d recommend this as a session beer.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Grassy, hoppy, bitter, sweet. Doesn’t look great, head does not last very long neither does the taste for that matter. Alcohol showing. Can’t drink a lot of these in one session.
