sybbor (1), Amsterdam, Netherlands does not count Nov 16, 2005 This Pilsener beer has been my favortie ever since. First it was called Up52 later just UP. Even though the bitter character of the beer has been diminished now that it is called UrTyp, it’s become maybe even better than before. Frsh tasty hoppy and strong bitter. Nicely poored out in long glass stylish glass. BrandUP (10), USA Apr 17, 2008 The Brand Brewery has change the name of the beer back to BRAND UP.
Great! Must dryer/bitter and less fruity.
A nice bitter after taste. DJH-Bird99 (208), Nijkerk, Netherlands Nov 1, 2000 It’s one of my favourites.
It’s based on the earlier pilsener beers from Plzen jerohen (1488), Bussum, Netherlands Jan 27, 2003 Updated: Jul 30, 2008Rating reflects Urtyp-version. Brand Urtyp: Pale yellow, thin lacing. Hoppy aroma. Smooth hoppy and watery taste. The Dutch version of Pilsener Urquell. My absolute favourite everyday-pilsener. Brand UP: I guess changing of the name from Urtyp to UP was accompanied by a change in recipe. The beer seems more one-dimensional and more dry, closer to their regular pilsener. Such a shame. Rating 3.2. schuim (36), Netherlands Nov 30, 2001 This probably is the best Dutch pilsner. It is for sure the most hoppy one from the large dutch breweries.
