Schönes goldgelbes Bier mit wenig aber stabilem Schaum. Leichtes Aroma, im Geschmack starke Hopfennoten, bitter, leichte Andeutungen von Likör. Ordentliches Bier.

Tap at The Huppel, Den Haag. Poured a clear straw colour with a frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is light yeast hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a yeast, big alcohol, malt, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. No classic. Nothing to differentiate it from the other Belgian Strong Ales.

Strong blond beer, fruity aroma and taste. Has a slight bit of alcohol, but goes down ever so smooth, hits like a ton of bricks though.

Duvel-inspired ’edelbier’ created by a hobby brewer who won a contest in 2013 allowing him to have it brewed at Brand. Snow white, mousse-like, bit milky head, colour of ’old gold’, cristal clear with calm sparkling. Aroma of grapefruit, green apple, honey, caramel, pineapple; taste a rounded fruitiness at first, then becoming more malty in a honeyish and caramelly way, supple and smooth mouthfeel, finishing assertively hoppy with hints of tonic water and grapefruit, dry and long with some gin-like, warming alcohol.

A clear golden beer, dense white head. Aroma of fruits, caramel and herbs. The hops are clearly there in the taste, but could’ve been more, probably toned down for commercial succes. I decent beer, Duvel like, but a bit dull. I expected more from this one.

Strong blond beer with a taste of fruit, aroma hop and a slight metallic edge which is a bit unpleasent. Not very yeasty, but somewhat watery. Boring.

Draught. Pours clear golden with small white head. Clear aroma of hops and citrus, with notes of yeast. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with notes of fruit and flowers ending rather dry and estery. Bitter aftertaste. OK but nothing special for the style.
