Based on a traditional best bitter brew. This beer is smooth on the palate and is noted for its soft, but surprisingly fruity flavour.

Hazy amber beer, small white head. Softish palate, a tad dry. Little hop on the nose. Light soft malt blends well with tame and somewhat watery hops. Some bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall a clean bitter but hard to get enthusiastic about.

Bottled. An unclear light golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and lemons. The body is light.

Fairly pleasant aroma, full of beer ingredients. Mostly malty body, quite full. Taste also pleasantly grainy, quite mashy. Husky retronasals.

Cask - Kings Head, Norwich. Amber with a lasting though small, bubbly off-white head. Toasty mid fruit aromas. Yeast, some mid fruit sweetness again on the tongue and then a hefty dose of almond kicks in finishing with a lingering dry nutty bitterness. Light to medium body, soft carbonation medium length finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Warm copper colour with an off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, almost spicy. Medium-bodied, roasted malty accents with quite some toffee and again a spicy touch. Finish has quite some hop bite with a citrusy touch. A well composed Bitter. 221109

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is light herbal and subdued fruity hops. Mild orange fruity to light spiced hoppy flavoured. Light bitterness matched with a good sweet malt base providing a rather harmonious profile. Smooth bitter and malty finish.

Cask gravity, The Duke of Wellington, Norwich. Brilliant headless Ribena red looks, low carbonation. Fresh hop aroma with suggestions of strawberry and tea. Gentle earth, coffee, strawberry and maybe pear fruit, husky malts late on. Sweet but with the dry hop bite to balance it. Nice.

Cask conditioned at The Kings Head, Norwich. Copper gold with white head. I found this to be a little disjointed but still pretty decent, I found a dusty type hop, quite spicy with an ashy, slightly metallic note, srangely I wrote autumn leaf fall, and there were no trees outside. Good stuff.
