Cask-conditioned at the Brandy Cask, Pershore, 27 May 2011. Copper coloured with a tight, white head. Powerful, floral and citrus hop aroma with some fruit and biscuity malts. Flavour had plenty more orange fruit, solid cereal malts and a hoppy, bitter finish. An excellent sub 4% ABV beer.

Cask (handpump) at the Brandy Cask, Pershore, May 2009. Copper coloured, traditionally styled, “ordinary” bitter. Creamy head. Fruity aroma. Plenty of tangy hop character. Some resinous notes. Biscuity malt background. Good balance. Nicely drinkable.

Cask conditioned at Charlbury Beer Festival 03) Orangey yellow colour, no head. A crisp spicy malt flavour, some burnt notes but plenty of balancing hops.

A beer of considerable complexity from a very small brewery/pub in middle England. The staff at the small brew festival raved about this one in the programme and in person, so I made a bee-line for it. Good thing, too, as it was the first to sell out, after just over three hours. Dull amber color with yellow edges, clear at the very edge. No head, but that's not expected with a gravity pour. Aroma of tea, caramel, herbs, and fruit. The flavor is beautiful, initially a bit of spice on the tongue as if suggesting cracked pepper, then hints of fresh cigars and toasted malts. Very smooth, well balanced, and a less in providing flavors with subtlety. (on gravity cask, 2003 Charlbury Beer Festival, Oxon)
