Cask Stillage at the St John Ambulance Hall, Newton Abbot 08/03/2003 Amber coloured and strong in alcohol with some fruit aroma. Some dryness in a full malt finish.

This is a winter seasonal from a brewery based in a former cow shed on a National Trust property. Copper colour. Very pronounced malt aroma, but a little harsh and musty. Reminiscent of the malt in a cheap blended Scotch whisky. There is also bitterness on the palate. However, considering what went before, the finish, whilst still malty is amazingly clean and clear. Overall, I liked this. Cask (gravity), Battersea Beer Festival.

Gravity @ The Dog's Home for Beer Festival. Copper colour. Yeasty rough and malty bitter - floats around in an odd way, never quite coming together in any meaningful way. Some woody notes. A lovely long big flavoursome finish.
