Cask, handpump @ The Bridge Inn, Topsham, Devon. Dimple, Full pint, a little wafer of white atop a bright, copper body. Minimal head holds and leaves a fine lace. Lightly metallic, peppery and earthy hop nose with a touch of dusty, gritty malt and old stonefruit. Very delicate on the palate, soft, still and dry. Soft malt astringency in back, a little tinge of metal too, but not alarming, amongst some barnyard, gritty, toasted grains and earthy, herbal hops. Light to moderate bitterness on the swallow before dropping off short, a little watery even. Too shy of character and lacking in any oomph, but still a sessionable number. Pretty average though!

Cask conditioned at Moreton in Marsh Beer Fest ’11. Amber with white head. There was quite a stewed malty note with this leading to an earthy dry flavour. I found it a little unbalanced and boiled vegetable like. A little disappointing really.
