Very smooth, citrusy dIPA combined with a sweet wheat beer. The best part is that the IPA dominates over the wheat: the sweet wheat balances the aggressive citrusy hops. Very nice and smooth sipper. A sleeper of double - it drinks like a smooth IPA.

From the 650 ml. bottle. Medium amber-orange color with a long lasting off-white head. Milky clarity. I thought this was an American Strong Ale because if I did not know better I would think I was trying a Barleywine. Lots of sweet, roasted malts on the nose. No alcohol burn and very little to no hop quality. Medium to full body. In some respects this has all the characteristics of a mellowed Barleywine but it is not quite there. No booze in the taste either. Not bad at all.

Very much a Belgian Ale from go to whoa - massive estery nose which carries to the palate with a huge far-too-sweet caramel malt base - completely OTT - I don’t know what they’re trying to achieve here and, as usual, these hybrid styles don’t work for me - I don’t like the upfront esters of Belgian Ales so this misses the mark for me immediately. More isn’t necessarily better. This was a freebee from the shop and I certainly won’t be buying it.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel braunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, Karamell, fruchtig, hopfig. Geschmack röstmalzig, fruchtig hopfig, Karamell, leicht alkoholisch.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Intense hop resins pierce heavyset honeyed residual sugars, while alcohol heat and citrusy ramifications complete a potent sipping experience.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the hazy amber shine.
-Drinkability is obviously low.
-The coniferous bitterness is indeed brash.
-The US is chock full of strong ales of this ilk. You have to be in the mood for it, but when you are, it sure hits the spot.
-Floral notes seem to follow the obvious alcohol.

Ok, this was on tap at the bocktown. It was said to be a wheat beer. Being that I like wheat beers, I thot I’d give it a try. Let me tell you, this was a kick in the face. It was not cloudy, so I think it is filtered but it says not on this sight. Right off the bat I knew something was not right, it had a hefty hoppy aroma. Wew, first taste had nothing in common with a wheat beer, not even a wheat ale. Leaves a hoppy bitter thang down in the back of yer throat. Yes, much more than a wheat fer sure. And hefe? has nothing in common with a hefe ny friend. Barely any co2 in there. Finish is astringent medicine. I can’t figure out why I paid $5 for this 4 oz sample, rip off. Dissapointed and not impressed.

Tap at New Bohemia. Very interesting combination of flavors from the beginning to the end. Aroma leans more towards the IPA side. Taste is initially sweet but follows up more like double IPA. Alcohol is present but not overpowering. An easy drinking beer. Recommended.

Tap. New Bohemia small pour. Gold with white head. Floral fruit, maybe grapefruit. Aroma is nice. Taste is more ipa than wheat. Tart and then dry, but the floral fruit lingers. Taste carries through for a long time. Very interesting and easy to drink. Happy to have it for my 200th beer rated.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark yellow color ale with a medium size foamy head with light retention and very minimal lacing. Aroma of light wheat notes with some hoppy notes with some sugars also noticeable. Taste is dominated by quite a bit of residual sugars with some warming alcohol notes, some wheat malt with dry bitter hoppy notes also noticeable into this mix. Body is light for style with good carbonation with way too much alcohol noticeable.
