4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz bottle. Very dark, black color. Very boozy nose! Loads of high cacao dark chocolate, hints of barrel aging smell as well. Charred flavor, burnt grains & sugars, fusel/booze. Finishes with notes of cocoa. Itís a big beer, needs to be shared, too much for just one person! (4258)

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Hop City, Atlanta. Pours a rich, dark brown, little to no head. Aroma lots of cocoa, Hersheyís baking chocolate. Body lithe, slippery, roasty, slight boozy bite. Overall, really well-balanced, with a lingering roasty bitterness.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle and served in snifter: Pours a deep colour, near opaque with a fading head (likely cocoa oils causing that), zero head retention or lace. A bit brash with heavy roast and char with dark chocolate overtones. Some herbal and piney hop notes in addition to the faint prune, fig, and leathery notes. Still the body seems a tad too thin for the flavor profile, not overly complex despite what wrote before. Drinkable

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Pours a thick black with a frothy mocha colored head. Aroma is so sweet. Loads of cocoa, caramel, and roasted malts. Sweet chocolatey goodness wraps around the palate. Itís so thick and creamy. Sweetness is balanced out by a nice butter tingle on the finish. Pretty enjoyable. ABV is hidden very well.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a thick, deep brown almost black with minimal head retention. Nose is strongly of cocoa and a bit smokey. Starts with a strong punch of pure chocolate. Itís a bit bitter on the tongue but it finishes with the sweetness more typical of milk stouts. One of the better chocolate stouts Iíve had. Pretty filling as well. Final note: I was surprised at the alc content because itís masked fairly well.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a very well done beer. Big without being harsh. Roasty without being ashy. Rich without being cloying. Definitely a hearty sweet beer, loads of chocolate, but not overdone.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very drinkable for the ABV. Plenty of chocolate, with easy-drinking lactose flavors as well. Iím a fan, but it isnít the most complex, and the finish is a bit short for an imperial stout.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from the Art of Beer. Pours a very dark brown with a brown head leaving nice streaks of lace. Aroma has sweet chocolate, heavy roast, caramel, some lactose and faint smoke. Taste is of sweet caramel, milk chocolate, licorice, some roasty espresso and sugar. Medium to full bodied with some alcohol presence. Finishes sweet and somewhat bitter. Long and lactose-y. If they were trying for "imperial chocolate milk stout", as stated, they hit it. Lotta flavor and depth, but sweet; almost an imperial porter, but even sweet for that. Eyed this for a while; shame that it seems to have broken down a bit, or just the style aimed for is too much.
