COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The quality of the cold brewed coffee that goes into Texas Exile is important to us. That’s why we hooked up with MA coffee roaster Barismo. These guys are as serious about coffee as we are about beer. About 33 gallons of cold brewed coffee goes into each batch of Texas Exile right before fermentation, adding the perfect compliment to the brown sugar and oatmeal flavors of this huge imperial porter. Breakfast just got a punch in the neck.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2012 Comes out of the bottle a deep sable barely a flea’s eyebrow above black with a thick and rather persistent tan head. Smoky aroma has firm coffee and, interestingly, hoppy notes. Flavor has tones of hops, coffee and chocolate plus some woody hoppy hints. Smooth texture has good body and fizz, and some sass. Wherever you have it, a good one!

Dark with a sizable brown sugar head. Terrific coffee flavor, low on bitterness, smooth and roasty.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a big coffee aroma with some spices tossed in. Appearance- This beer is a dark brown to black color with a nice sized tan head. Taste- Has a bitter flavor mixed with the coffee and yeast, not bad, but not great. Palate- A heavy bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Has a dry finish. Overall- Not great, but a fairly solid beer. It is worth a try.

Bottle. Near black in color with a steady creamy tan head. Lots of roasted notes, dark chocolate and lushy licorice in aroma. Light spicyness and bit of leathery vinous notes as well. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Well roasted coffee, just like level 5 löfbergs, some chocolatecakey notes in taste. Enough with bitters though maintaining the drinkability good here. There’s even a nice touch of dark fruity vinousness and licorice in aftertaste.

Jet black with a dense one-finger light brown head and viscous lace. Big roasted coffee aromas, cocoa and raw tobacco leaves. Taste follows, dominated by the coffee up front with a strong bittersweet chocolate middle and contributions from a bottle of bourbon and a Macanudo. Full body, minimal carbonation, creamy mouthfeel, and a rich coffee/cocoa finish.

Pours a vicious oily looking black. Looks super thick and syrupy. Aroma doesn’t give too much away. Coffee, chocolate. Taste is loaded with strong coffee, subtle hints of tobacco and vanilla. Pretty boozy. One of the better porters I’ve had.

Great porter. Coffee was unreal. Giant coffee and toffee richness. Porter mouthfeel was so drinkable for such a flavor full brew A+++

Bottle to tulip. Aroma of coffee, alcohol and sweet malt. Pours an oily black with minimal brown head that only leaves a small collar. Wonderful taste of chocolate, oatmeal and coffee. Sweetness lingers. Moderate roast blends nicely.

Awesome imperial porter. Strong black coffee flavor with a hint of smokey flavors. Very bitter and coffee finish. Smells like coffee with some notes of chocolate. Great beer. Had at home out of a bomber ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Bieropholie, shared at Mike’s. Deep brown black with a thin mocha head. Fairly intense coffee, some roasted malts, a little cooked green pepper. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Fairly strong coffee, cooked green peppers, roasted malts; dry with decent bitterness and a long coffee and roasted malt finish.
