COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The quality of the cold brewed coffee that goes into Texas Exile is important to us. That’s why we hooked up with MA coffee roaster Barismo. These guys are as serious about coffee as we are about beer. About 33 gallons of cold brewed coffee goes into each batch of Texas Exile right before fermentation, adding the perfect compliment to the brown sugar and oatmeal flavors of this huge imperial porter. Breakfast just got a punch in the neck.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2012 Comes out of the bottle a deep sable barely a flea’s eyebrow above black with a thick and rather persistent tan head. Smoky aroma has firm coffee and, interestingly, hoppy notes. Flavor has tones of hops, coffee and chocolate plus some woody hoppy hints. Smooth texture has good body and fizz, and some sass. Wherever you have it, a good one!

Great porter. Coffee was unreal. Giant coffee and toffee richness. Porter mouthfeel was so drinkable for such a flavor full brew A+++

Bottle to tulip. Aroma of coffee, alcohol and sweet malt. Pours an oily black with minimal brown head that only leaves a small collar. Wonderful taste of chocolate, oatmeal and coffee. Sweetness lingers. Moderate roast blends nicely.

Awesome imperial porter. Strong black coffee flavor with a hint of smokey flavors. Very bitter and coffee finish. Smells like coffee with some notes of chocolate. Great beer. Had at home out of a bomber ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Bieropholie, shared at Mike’s. Deep brown black with a thin mocha head. Fairly intense coffee, some roasted malts, a little cooked green pepper. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Fairly strong coffee, cooked green peppers, roasted malts; dry with decent bitterness and a long coffee and roasted malt finish.

Pours a dark black pour with a nice java head. Nose is fresh roasted espresso and deep chocolate. Taste is deep chocolate and coffee with some bitterness as well. Finishes with a bitter sweet velvety finish and on the same delicious tasting notes. Tasty ale ! Quaff Score 8 / 10

Bomber. Pours black with a brown head and aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Taste is strong, tons of roasty, bittering coffee notes with roasted malt and lots of creamy chocolate throughout with a coffee, mocha finish. Delicious coffee brew

Great aroma but that after taste is like some cheap wine...but very light on the palette.

From the 650 ml bottle. Black pour with thick light brown head that settles back some. Brewed with coffee they say and the aroma implies it is a dark roast coffee. But there is some alcohol too and a wooden barrel. Smells like a barrel-aged beer. The body is chewy and full. The booze is more apparent in the taste but it is intermixed with coffee, dark malts, and dark fruit with a lingering bitterness.
