COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We love ipa. Especially big hoppy ones. This west coast style imperial India pale ale is not messing around. At 12% abv and 110 ibu’s, it’s the liquid equivalent of Lenny in John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men. Gently tending rabbits then suddenly….snap, it’s a whirlwind of crazy. Big citrusy aromatics, solid bitter backbone, and candy-like finish.

Bomber. Pours hazy dark orange with yellow around the edges, topped with a 2-finger creamy/frothy eggshell head that leaves rings of lacing as it recedes. Aromas of massive citrus, sweet pineapple, orange, and some brandy. Dough, orange frosting, and orange poppy seed muffins are also evident. The flavor is bitter citrus pith, orange, pineapple, with some brandy and sugar-coated citrus. Lingering earthy and bitter hop finish with noticeable alcohol. Thick mouthfeel, warming, and dry; ABV is pretty well hidden, considering. Pretty tasty, aggressive, and fruity. [1146]

Bomber shared by Chalumeaux. Thanks TJ! Bottled 9/18/14. So, it’s a Barleywine now. Rating as such. Pours golden brown with an off white head. Aroma is honey, molasses, floral. As a Barleywine this isn’t half bad. Honey, molasses, floral, pine bitterness to balance.

Poured from bottle dated 9/18/14. Hazy orange color with thin fizzy head. Aromas of caramel malt hops and bitter pine resin. Taste is very bitter and lingers. Might have been better fresh.

Bomber Bottle from Champanes, this drink had a hazy orange-red pour, it looked like squeezed dark orange juice, a thick, viscous pour made a two finger off-white and orange-yellow tinted head that receded to a thin cover and ring that left some spots of lacing on the glass, there was nice rings, spots and small sheets of lacing on the glass, the bottle had a thick ring and layer of medium to dark colored sediment on the bottom, it had nice aromas of toasted malt, orange fruit and a fruit that was similar to mango, citrus, floral and pine hops, some bread, bread and fruit sweetness, the flavors were citrus, grass and resin hops, nice toasted malt, orange fruit, and some malt sweetness, the finish had hop bitterness with some malt and fruit following, hop bitterness lingered on the tongue, the mouth feel was medium, it was creamy and it had soft to average carbonation, this beer was very hazy, a great malt, fruit and hop nose, it had lots of malt, fruit and hops, the alcohol was hidden well, a nice drink.

Bomber. Pours a copper orange with an off white head and aroma of hops, pine, and resin. Taste is strong bitterness up front, lots of pine and resin with hops into the big bitter, dry finish.

Crafted nicely and pours well, but not in my spectrum unfortunately. Very strong and makes it a lottle overwhelming but I know a few who’ll love it.

Starts out with a big body that does not deliver. Call UPS and have them deliver it to you. This has the beginnings but not the middle and the end! Low head and super syrupy. Tastes like liquid hop but ends quick. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Minority of 22 oz. bottle, consumed on 1-19-14. Labeled as “Bottled on 07/11/13,” so it’s well past its best by date. I didn’t see the label when I purchased it recently (I feel justified in rating it because it was purchased recently in this state off the shelf, not forgotten in my cellar). Pours a hazy orange-bronze with a small amount of short-lasting, beige head. The liquid would be worthy of a 4 with even average head. Scents of apricot, paint, booze, and urine. Smells more like a barley wine than a double IPA. Dry, floral taste features flavors of urine, cracker, orange, and honey. Everything is off. Not good. Full body. Undercarbonated in the palate. I suspect this would have been a not very good beer in its prime (too boozy and jumbled), but it is actively bad at this point. I used the majority for cooking, which is my equivalent of a drain pour, and the food I cooked didn’t taste very good due to the presence of this beer.
