1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 thedm (4124) - Fort Wayne, USA - AUG 2, 2007
This draft brew from the brew pub poured a small sized head of finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent typically carbonated copper brown colored body. The mild aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with an astringent aftertaste. The thin flavor contained notes of malt brown malt and mild astringency.

Draught at Brewpub: Aroma of malts and floral hops. Poured amber in color with a medium-sized, creamy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Lightly sparkling. Good lacing. Light to medium bitter flavor. Tastes of hops and malts. Medium body. Average texture. Soft to average carbonation. Hoppy, lightly dry finish.

Echo of gws57’s comments (coppery, light head, some malt, and an odd taste of metal) and about the same impression. Not a memorable amber. Actually, pretty un-memorable.

Had this one on draught in South Barrington. Pours a light copper color with very little head, somewhat malty with notes of flowers, baked bread, and aluminum. I don’t think I could drink many of these.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 beervana (781) - Libertyville, Illinois, USA - JUN 2, 2006
(04.24.06) On tap at Brass Restaurant and Pub, Barrington, IL. Poured clear dark red amber with medium sized head. Soft carbonation. Faint malt aroma. Starts dry with light malt flavor. Finished dry with lingering hop bitterness. Rather thin, watery, and unbalanced, this beer could use some more malt to balance out the hop bitterness. My least favorite of Brass’ offerings.

Decent enough red, but i like a little stronger malt profile than this offers. Nice hopping in the finish though. Mouthfeel was a little thin.

Clear and transparent light copper in color with a thin tan sheet for the head. Aroma has some honey, brown sugar and caramelized pecans, along with a woeful acclimation of the acidity that will predictably follow. First taste tells us that acidity isn’t going to be a major player. Flavor accented with hazelnuts and tree bark, caramel and pecans. Rustic red ale traits on the underbelly and a dry finish. Probably the best that this brewery has to offer.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Zeswaft (1182) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 27, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2006 Tastes pretty much like the Pale ale though a little less hoppy. Light amber color with little head, may have been somewhat flat.

This one was also part of the sampler at Brass. It had the slightly murky brown color and the long lasting head. It had sweet malt that I expect in an amber but maybe (maybe not) a little light on hops for my taste. A quaffer overall though.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Cornfield (5277) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JAN 18, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2005 A nice, full-bodied amber, this is described as being a "British pub-style ale." It’s heavier on the malts than that, but the deep, sweet maltiness was quite enjoyable. Nice herbal hopped counter-balance, making for a refreshing brew. Clean finish.
