Cask conditioned at Birmingham Beer Fest ’11. Gold with white head. Crisp biscuity malts carrying a bouquet of lemon flowers, sharp and bitter. Lovely juicy notes, drying and lasting. My favourite beer of this Festival.

Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A clear deep golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of lemon, straw, some grapefruit, slight grain and grassy, floral hops. Taste is similar of lemon, straw, some grapefruit, slight grain, a little barley sweets and grassy, floral hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, lingering, floral hops bitterness in the finish. A refreshingly dry golden ale with a decent body and great cascade hop bitterness. Well made.

Cask @ Cask, Manchester. Clear golden-blonde with a small creamy head. Fairly hoppy with a mid tropical fruit aroma and taste due to fusion of slightly sugary malts.

Clear and firmly golden with a tight ringed white head and solid lacing. Nose is peppery papaya, pear drops and a grassy backbone. Swirls of smooth citrus, mostly light tropical fruit but fairly diluted and steering sweetness. Soft carbonation and clean, lightly tinselly mouthfeel. Finishes dewy, lemon concentrate and a decent creamy bitter linger. No bad but not but a bit of a soft touch across the board.

Cask, Cloisters
