Cask conditioned at York Beer Fest ’09. Dark amber with white head. The beers from this brewery stood out at this festival for quality. Very hoppy, dry bright bitter, a good old British sessionable beer, well balanced with a fuller malty body. Good stuff.

[cask at the Brigantes, York] Hazy mid-brown pour with a thin, slightly-off white head. Bitter copper aromas that led me to believe it might not be at it’s best. Taste pretty much confirmed that – definitely one for a re-rate in the future [26022011]

Cask conditioned - handpump - Anchor Birmingham A dark copper coloured beer with a loose whitish head. A pretty standard English fruity nose and mouth. Some berries, but overall a safe middle of the road English bitter.
