michael-pollack (2192), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 12, 2008 Draught at Brewpub: Aroma of light spices. Poured golden/amber in color with a small, white head. Tastes of banana, bubblegum, and spices. Light to medium body. Average texture. Light to average carbonation. Spice finish. Walt (2291), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 31, 2008 Pour is lightly hazed golden with a thin white head...smell is attractively banana and clove, not like being hit over the head...tast is stronger with banana, cloves, and yeast...hints of coriander too..very lively carbonation...perhaps overly so... thedm (3407), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 2, 2007 This draft brew from the brew pub poured a head of finely sized clear colored bubbles that were fully diminished and left behind a slightly hazy softly carbonated light orange brown colored body and a poor lacing. The aroma was malty and banana. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops banana and crisp. Overall, it was slightly off style weak and thin. Not one that I would buy again. Arnie (272), Chicagoland, IL, Illinois, USA Jul 21, 2006 On tap at brewery. Everything I don’t like about Weizens. Too much reliance on the lemon, mild citrus notes in the beer. Thick and murky color though, and too much friut in the finish. It wasn’t a terrible beer though, just not my preferred style. gws57 (1083), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Jun 4, 2006 Had this one on draught in South Barrington. Opaque color of straw, served with a lemon. Excellent sample of the type. Nose of citrus, banana, clove, cinnamon with orange and pear in the taste. Finished somewhat muddy but a great beer overall. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA Feb 21, 2006 (02.18.06) Sampled at FebFest ’06, Libertyville, IL. Cloudy light copper hued hefeweissen beer having a large off-white head with good lacing. No discernable carbonation. Spicy yeasty aroma. Medium bodied beer that starts with moderate malt sweetness and spicy (clove)/smoky flavors. Finishes with pleasant malt aftertaste. Refreshing and flavorful. A very tasty and enjoyable beer. This brew was popular with beer enthusiats at the beerfest and it disappeared very quickly. frankenkitty (1873), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Jan 29, 2006 Served a well-hazed copper with a white head. Starts nice with milky yeast aromas of banana and clove, but the flavor turns medicinal with a thin mouthfeel. There was a Hefeweizen presence, but it wasn’t enough to save this beer. (It was also odd to see this summer-seasonal on tap in January, but their entire beer menu was higgeldy-piggeldy.)

Cornfield (4758), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Sep 5, 2005 Served with a wedge, which I immediately hurled away before I sampled it... although in retrospect, maybe I shoud’ve squeezed the lemon into the ale and stirred it up. The beer smelled like artificial banana flavoring was mixed in as an afterthought. The prevailing taste was banana flavored Turkish Taffy. I liked that candy as a kid, but I don’t now... and certainly not in a beer.
